Actress Thandie Newton sits close and spills the secrets of marital chemistry, saving the planet, and her sweet life flying beneath Hollywood’s radar

Thandie Newton strolls into the Electric, a private members club on London’s trendy Portobello Road, on a gray December morning. There is no mistaking her. We’ve watched her onscreen as the outrageous sexpot straddling Tom Cruise in a bathtub in M:I-2 and as the icy, beautiful wife in Crash, but in real life she is wholly another matter: As she makes her entrance, dressed in black and with her hair pulled back from her face, her presence is something close to luminous.

According to bloody-disgusting.com Thandie has signed on to star in Brad Anderson’s “Vanishing On 7th Street”. Other members of the cast include: John Leguizamo, Timothy Olyphant and Forest Whitaker. Here’s the plot description: “Following a mysterious blackout, most of the population vanishes into thin air. As the remaining survivors convene in a small tavern to figure out what happened, the darkness returns to claim them one by one.”

There’s not much going on right now - not much to report but to keep the site updated I have added an old photo shoot to the gallery. I don’t remember when it was done or for which publication but it is really nice to look at so head over to the galley to pass this time of slow news.

Thandie attended several events last month and early this month including a resort opening in Cape Town. She also attended the “A Tribute To Cinema Party” in England. All those images have been added to the gallery for you to view. Also, some of you may have noticed Thandie appeared in the two-hour finale of NBC’s “ER”.

A Tribute To Cinema Party

Thandie is in Paris this morning where she attended Stella McCartney’s show at the Paris Fashion Week. Other guests included Salma Hayek and West.
So far only fifteen images have been added to the gallery but I am confident that I’ll be able to add some more over the course of today and tomorrow. Until then have a look at what has been added so far.

I have just updated the gallery with a really stunning photo shoot Thandie did a while back. You shouldn’t miss it. Also I wanted to let you know that Thandie was on Rachael Ray back in October of last year. She promoted W. and RocknRolla and talked about preparing for her role as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice: “I had so much work to do. My posture - the way I held my neck, my shoulders - everything was different.” A small clip of Thandie’s appearance is up on the Rachael Ray Show website for you to watch.

Thandie is featured in the newly launched “Arise” Magazine. The magazine which was launched on the opening night of New York Fashion Week focuses on Africa. The premiere issue’s cover was graced by Liya Kedebe, Naomi Campbell and Alek Wek and also featured an article on Thandie. Images have been added to the gallery.

I have also added a new affiliate. Amanda Essence is dedicated to Amanda Peet with whom Thandie stars in the upcoming movie 2012

Thandie graces - among others - the new advertise campaign for the Dorchester luxury hotel chain. The ads feature the living as well as the dead. Thandie is one of six people in the first ad. Also featured are Noël Coward, Elizabeth Taylor, Peter Sellers, Joan Collins and Andy Warhol. The ads read “Stars come and go. This is where.� The campaign was photographed by Mark Seliger and is carried by magazines like Vanity Fair.

Here is the promised and long overdue images update. Throughout last week Thandie attended several events including The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2009 and The ELLE Style Awards 2009.

Thandie also recently spoke out against the violence in Gaza and what’s being called a “conspiracy of silence” as well as the “collective punishment of Gaza’s civilian population”. Furthermore Thandie said: “Right now, this minute, innocent people like you and me, children like mine and yours, are victims of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.” You can view Amnesty International UK’s video here.
